What Aceday costs, and why.

Free is the whole app. Plus is $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year, seven days free. This page has every number behind that: what stays free, how the price was picked, what the AI costs us per student, and what we promise.

The plans

Free is the whole app. Plus is more of it.

Nothing a student needs for school moves behind the paid plan, now or later. Plus is the things that cost us real money to run.

Aceday

Free
  • Your whole school day from your school's calendar: Blackbaud, Canvas, Veracross, Pronote, any iCal link
  • Reminders before every class, the Lock Screen, the Dynamic Island, "You're home. Tonight:"
  • Grades, the trend, what you need on the final, and your GPA
  • Homework with steps, late-work alerts, Short on time, the bag for tomorrow, emails to teachers
  • Class notebooks, study sets, the gym, food, Learn, and the coach with a daily limit on photo and video checks

School, grades, safety and the basics are never behind the paid plan.

Billed by Stripe with a card, in the app or at aceday.studio. A reminder before the trial bills. Cancel in two taps. Under 18? The app makes a private pay link for a parent.

What stays free, and why

The things other apps charge for that we won't.

We read what students say about the apps they already use. The loudest complaint is a free feature that one day costs money. So here is the line, in public.

Free forever

Your school day

The calendar link, every class with its room, the reminders, the Lock Screen and the Dynamic Island. This is what Aceday is. Charging for it would be charging for the app.

Free forever

Grades, the final, the GPA

"What do I need on the final" is the most loved feature in this category and the one students are angriest to see paywalled. One app's reviews say makes me pay to see my GPA. Ours never will.

Free forever

Alerts about late work

Other apps sell missing-assignment alerts as the paid tier. A late lab report is exactly when a student needs the app most, so the alert and the email to the teacher are free.

Free forever

Safety

Anything about not eating, about weight, or about self-harm gets a caring reply and real help lines, on every plan, always. Nothing about this will ever have a price.

Plus

What costs us money

Every photo the coach looks at and every second of video it checks is paid for per call. Plus pays for more of that, and for the strongest model where it matters: the plan, the goals, the recap.

Never

Moving things behind the paywall

A study app once moved its two best features behind a paid plan and got a petition and op-eds. If something is free in Aceday today, it stays free. New paid things are new.

How the price was set

$4.99 a month is the category's price. $34.99 a year is what students already pay for a planner.

Prices as found in November 2026, from the App Store and the apps' own pages. They change by country; a few are from third-party trackers and marked "about".

Education has the highest median yearly subscription of any App Store category: $44.99 (RevenueCat, State of Subscription Apps 2026). Half of education trials run five to nine days. Ours is seven.

Why not $20 a month

$20 is where the AI-answer apps sit.

Knowt and the homework-answer apps charge for the model doing the work. Aceday's AI never writes the answers; it plans the day and checks photos. That is worth a planner's price, not a tutor's.

Why not free, all of it

Photos cost real money, every time.

A free plan where every student can send unlimited photos to the coach would be paid for by nobody and switched off in a month. Daily limits keep free honest; Plus pays for the rest.

Why yearly is 42% less

A student who stays all year is worth more than a card fee.

$34.99 a year is $2.92 a month. It sits with what students already pay (MyStudyLife and Structured $29.99, Shovel $35, Quizlet $35.99) and below the category's median.

What it costs us

About $1 a month for a free student, about $2 for a Plus student.

The coach runs on Claude. Every call is routed to the cheapest model that does the job well, the rules are cached, photos are shrunk on the phone, and things like gyms and videos are found once and shared. Here is what an active student (one who opens the app most days) costs us.

A free student, per month

What that means
1 : 2Plus to free

One Plus student pays for about two free ones. That's the business: the students who want more photos and the best model carry everyone else's school day.

The limits
60 + 12 photos a day, free

Free: 60 text jobs and 12 photo jobs a day. Plus: 400 and 80. Over the limit the app keeps working on its own (every feature has a version that runs on the phone) and says so plainly.

Everything else
$99a year to Apple

The developer account. The database and the pushes are free at this size and about $25 a month after a few thousand students. The AI is the only cost that grows with every student.

What we promise

Eight things you can hold us to.

  • A reminder before the trial bills.Seven days free, and an email the day before it charges. The two biggest complaints about trials in this category are a charge after cancelling and a trial that quietly turns into a full year.
  • No silent switch from a trial to a year. You pick monthly or yearly before the trial starts, and that is what bills.
  • Cancel in two taps.Manage subscription opens Stripe's own page: change the card, switch monthly and yearly, cancel. No email to write, no chat to wait in.
  • Early subscribers keep their price. If the price ever goes up, anyone already paying stays on what they signed up at.
  • No price shown to anyone under 13.Aceday does not sign them up at all. Sign-up asks for a birth year first.
  • Nothing free today becomes paid tomorrow.New paid things are new. The list on this page is the promise.
  • No card details on our side.Stripe holds them. Aceday keeps an id and a status, and nothing about the card ever reaches us.
  • No pushing. The Plus screen lives in Settings and on this page. No pop-ups, no countdown offers, no "you're missing out" notifications. Ever.

For parents

Most students can't pay for anything. So a parent can, from their own phone.

No account to make, no app to install, nothing about the student in the link.

The student taps "Ask a parent to pay"

On the Plus screen. Aceday makes a private link with a random code and opens the share sheet, so it goes by text or however they talk to you.

You open it

The page says what Aceday is, what Plus adds, what stays free, and the price. You pay with your own card through Stripe; the receipt and the cancel button are yours, not the student's.

Plus lands on their phone

Seven days free first, then $4.99 a month or $34.99 a year, whichever you picked. Cancel any time from the receipt email.

Later, on paper

Things we have priced but not built.

Nothing here is for sale yet. It's here so the thinking is public, and so you can tell us if you want it.

Designed, not built

Aceday Family for students

$59.99a year, up to 3 students

One subscription for the siblings. A parent buys it from the same pay link and gets two more links to send. It gets built once the first parents pay through the link above.

An idea

Aceday Family for parents

$29a month, or $249 a year

Every kid in the house, both parents, the school's own calendar feed plus the inbox, a 7 PM "tomorrow" note, forms and deadlines, a Sunday family brief. The student app stays the student's: no grades, notes or coach thread a student didn't share.

An idea

Aceday for Schools

$2per student a month, billed yearly

Every family at the school gets Family free; the school sees that Friday's change was seen by 412 of 480 families, and sends one Sunday digest instead of four emails. The first school would be a free pilot.

Questions

Things people ask.

What happens when I hit the free limit?

The app keeps working. Every feature has a version that runs on the phone (the planner, the class-note parser, the meal parser, the study builder, the day questions), so the day never stops. The coach's photo and chat replies wait until tomorrow, and the app says so in one plain line, with no pop-up.

Does the free app get worse once Plus exists?

No. The free plan is the complete app, and the list of what stays free is on this page. New paid things are new. We will not move a feature you use today behind the paid plan.

How do I cancel?

Settings, Aceday Plus, Manage subscription. That opens Stripe's own page, where you can cancel, change the card, or switch between monthly and yearly. Plus stays on until the end of what you paid for. If a parent paid, the cancel link is in their receipt email.

Will I be charged during the trial?

No. Seven days free, an email the day before it charges, and if you cancel during the trial nothing is billed. The trial becomes the plan you picked, never a different one.

Can I get a refund?

If something went wrong (a double charge, a trial that should have been cancelled), write to the address in your receipt and it's refunded. If you forgot to cancel, ask anyway; we'd rather refund a month than argue about one.

Why is this a web checkout and not the App Store?

In the United States an app may send you to its own checkout on the web, with no commission, since the 2025 court order in Epic v. Apple. Stripe's fee is about 3%, Apple's is 15 to 30%, and the difference is what keeps the yearly price at $34.99. Outside the US, Plus will come through the App Store with its own subscription and Ask to Buy for families.

Is there a student or school discount?

Every price on this page is already the student price; there is no other audience. Schools: see "Aceday for Schools" above and write to us, the first school is a free pilot.

Do you make money from my data?

No. Nothing is sold, nothing is shared with advertisers, there are no ads. The only income is Plus. The privacy policy is at getaceday.com/privacy, and Delete my account and data is in Settings.

Free is the whole app.

Try Plus for seven days if you want more of the coach. Keep using Aceday for free if you don't. Either way your school day is in it.
